We chose Coast Riders Inn as we wanted to stay close to the ocean and have some facilities around us. We arrived early and were lucky enough that our room was ready and we could check in early. The staff were very welcoming and gave us local knowledge of the coast and how far we could travel up highway 1. Room was basic but comfortable and had everything that we needed. There was a complimentary breakfast, pastries, toast and some fruit which was welcome. There are a couple of restaurants within a few mins walk, all reasonably priced. The beach is just over the road, though you do have to cross the highway to get to it, that wasn’t a problem. Close to Hearst Castle and also elephant seal viewing points and various other vista stop points.

When we checked in, the lights in the town were temporarily off, and we were reassured they would be on in a couple of hours. The staff was nonplussed and checked us in, headlamps on! We were each given a small package of homemade cookies and a toy car (Coast Riders), which I thought was very clever. Off to dinner, we went, and upon our return, as promised, the lights were on. We had been kindly upgraded to get an extra bed (minimal charge) and the room was beyond our expectations. Three queen-sized beds, a large bathroom, fresh towels, hot hot water, and a large flat-screen TV. We had a splendid stay. I would definitely stay there again.

Our stay at Coast Riders Inn was fantastic. The staff were suuuper friendly and attentive with us. They gave us some cookies and two cars when we did the check-in; we really appreciate the gesture. The motel decoration was nice - it was inspired on the world of motor racing. The room was great, spacious and with everything you need (a small fridge, a microwave, a coffee maker...). It was also really clean and the bed was big and so comfortable. The motel also has a common area with board games and a heated pool. The breakfast was complete: beverages and pastries to start the day. We will definitely come back some day!

This was my 2nd time staying here. The staff are always nice and welcoming. I appreciate the complimentary cookies upon check in, they were delicious! The room size are a good size. Personally I think the beds are comfortable. The rooms are clean with the exception that I found 2 hairs, 1 on a bath towel & the other in the bathroom. Also, i have stayed at several other hotels in cambria, some in town others beach front, coast riders inn has definitely been the cleanest so I really appreciate that. Overall, I do recommend staying here. Great value for your money.

An older style motel that has updated rooms. It means they are big with a comfy king bed. And it's back from the highway so there's no traffic noise. It has a quirky motorcycle and motor racing vibe, with amazing Lego model cars and motorcycles on display, all built by the owner I believe. It's a pity that with Highway 1 closed that there weren't more people staying there. Don't expect room service etc. But it's great value. And there are plenty of places to eat nearby.
